The Customer
Daraz is the leading online marketplace across South Asia (excluding India). Daraz provides access to 10 million products and delivers more than 2 million packages every month. In 2018, Daraz was acquired by Alibaba Group.
The business covers four key areas – e-commerce, logistics, payment infrastructure, and financial services – providing sellers and customers with an end-to-end commerce solution. With access to over 500 million customers in various markets, Daraz strives to deliver on its promise of enabling easy access to a wide assortment of products. Together with its digitalized logistics business, it employs more than 10,000 people, helping to bring economic opportunities to communities in South Asia.
The Problem
However, the absence of Azure Data Lake posed a significant challenge for Daraz. The primary issue revolved around generating reports and effectively analyzing the archived data. The archived data served several critical purposes, including meeting compliance requirements, centralizing discovery processes, conducting trend analysis and reporting, as well as facilitating predictive analytics and forecasting.
In summary, the client’s current lack of Azure Data Lake significantly impacts their operations, as they struggle to effectively utilize and derive meaningful value from their vast amount of archived data.

Azure single sign-on for mobile apps and web portals.
Infrastructure security & Application monitoring.

Folio3 Solution
The build and release management of multiple applications, web portals and middle wares wasn’t an easy task. The customer is also required to have a disaster recovery mechanism in place so that in case the primary region goes down everything can be replicated into another region to keep their operations running.
To resolve the issue regarding the production environment, we suggested following these steps for segregation.
